Insurance Pool Information

Posted on December 13, 2016 by webadmin
As part of our new contract, the District will now provide more money to the insurance pool, and this year it has really benefited members. Last year, 171 members requested funding from the insurance pool; of those, 53 still had out of pocket costs. This year, a similar number, 170, requested pool funding, and EVERY member had their out of pocket costs covered. In total, the pool covers $41,000 of out of pocket costs every month, an average of $241 per member who requested it (some members receive more, some receive substantially less). The number of members who have had the pool cover all of their costs has steadily increased over the years. Hooray for our bargaining team!
